Spring is in the air (this week anyway)! Save the date - start preparing for the Village's "3-Cycle Recyle" event! In celebration of Earth Day, this year's event will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 9am - Noon. Paper, electronics and hazardous waste will be collected at this drive-thru recycling event at the Village Municipal Center. Visit the refuse and recycling page for more information. NOTE: This April date replaces the recycling event formerly held in August.

The Community Events Committee will collect canned foods during the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration!
If you are able, please bring canned goods to help us support the D-300 Food Pantry serving those in need in our community! Drop cans off at the collection table by the entrance and grab a ticket for a FREE HOT CHOCOLATE!

Is your home Lit!? Enter the 2025 Holiday Lane Home Decorating Contest! To enter, complete and return a contest entry form by email to events@pingreegrove.org or drop off at the Municipal Center. Register by Wednesday, December 10th and decorate in time for judging Friday, December 12 - Sunday, December 14. Contest is open to all residential properties in Pingree Grove. Mark your calendar and join us for the Village's annual Electric Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 6th! Parade kicks off at 4:45 pm from CL Community Center parking lot to the Municipal Center, followed by the Official Tree Lighting Ceremony and celebration from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. This is a FREE family event hosted by the Pingree Grove Community Events Committee!

Get ready for the Celebration of Independence Day with the Pingree Grove Parade on Saturday, July 12th! Parade kicks off from Alta Vista Dr and Wester Blvd. and ends at the Cambridge Lakes Charter School. Over 40 parade entries!! Followed by the second day of fun-filled festivities with music, magic, car racing, bouncies, food, drinks, and of course FIREWORKS @ 9:15 pm!

Seeking individuals and groups to participate in the Village’s Earth Day Community Clean Up on Saturday, April 26 from 9am-noon. Register online at the Village website under the “How Do I” tab or complete a form at the Municipal Center. The top 3 trash collecting groups will receive a local gift card of choice 1st place $100; 2nd place $75; and 3rd place $50 (one gift card per group).

Village President Kubiak has proclaimed the month of June as Monarch Butterfly month in the Village of Pingree Grove. A proclamation was signed on June 3, 2024, in honor of the Monarch butterfly, the state insect of Illinois, to raise awareness on the decline of the Monarch and to help support their sustainability.
The Village welcomes you to visit the Pollinator Garden at the corner of Wester and Reinking, where new plantings of native plants such as milkweed and other nectar-producing plants to help increase the Monarch's chance of survival.
May 4, 2024 - Community Events Committee presents Touch-A-Truck, from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm with quiet hour from noon-1:00 pm at Cambridge Lakes Charter School parking lot.
In honor of Earth Day – April 22 the Village will host a PinGREEN Grove Earth Day Clean-Up Saturday, April 20 (Rain Date: Sunday, April 21) 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
The top three (3) registered groups that fill up the most 33 gal. bags with collected trash from designated areas around the village, will receive a local gift card (1 per group) - $100 for 1st; $75 for 2nd; $50 for 3rd.
Saturday, April 20 (Rain Date Sunday, April 21) Groups are to meet at the baseball complex parking lot (1075 Western Blvd) at 9:00 am. The Village will assign areas in need of clean-up and will provide 33 gal. garbage bags and gloves. Full garbage bags should be tied and left at designated areas for pickup by Public Works. The top 3 trash collector groups will be notified on Monday, April 22.
Cambridge Lakes Charter School third graders, along with Village President Wiedmeyer and Public Works Director, Pat Doherty, celebrate Arbor Day with a newly planted Starlite Flowering Crabapple tree.
