Make Bike Riding on Village Pathways an Enjoyable Experience for All by Being a Safe and Courteous Rider


üBe a courteous rider to all who utilize Village pathways.
üIt is recommended that cyclists wear protective helmet to reduce risk of permanent injury from a crash.
üRide at a safe and controlled speed.
üRide on the right side of the path in a single file line.
üAdults should ride behind and slightly to the left of children riding. If two adults riding with children, one in front one in back.
üSlow down and announce when looking to pass another bike or pedestrian by saying  “on your left,” when passing on the individual’s left side, or “on your right,” when passing on the individual’s right side, or using a bell or horn to alert your presence before passing from behind.
üBe aware of wildlife on and off the path. 
üRide one to a bike unless the bike is specifically designed to carry additional passengers.
üPay attention do not ride distracted by looking at your cellphone while riding. Pull over to the side of the path if you need to use your cellphone.
üFor the safety of yourself and others, it is not recommended to use earphones/headphones when bicycling as they block other sounds, and you may not be able to hear what is going on around you.
üFollow all signage, pavement markings and any directions from police officers.
