Village President Steve Wiedmeyer along with the Board of Trustees announces the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Pingree Grove Municipal Center. The ceremony, open to the public, is scheduled for Monday, July 23rd, 4:30 pm, at the new location – 555 Reinking Road, Pingree Grove. Construction is scheduled to begin that week with completion projected in the Spring of 2019.

The Village partnered with Lamp, Inc., Kluber Architects + Engineers, and Mackie Consultants for the design of the 27,000 square foot structure. The budget for the project is $4,225,000. The construction is being financed by generous donations from DR Horton Cambridge Lakes and the sale of bonds.  The building will be located on Village-owned property along Reinking Road, north of Pingree Grove’s Police Station and Water and Wastewater Treatment Departments.

Designed with the goal of housing all Village services in one location, the new Municipal Center brings together the Public Works Department, Building Department, and Administrative offices.  The building will include a Village Board meeting room, much needed storage space and a large garage to house all Public Works vehicles and equipment, currently stored in a rented warehouse in Elgin.

“This will be the largest Capital Improvement Project ever undertaken by the Village.” Village President, Steve Wiedmeyer.  “We are excited to upgrade to a modern facility that will make our work environment more collaborative and efficient.” Village Clerk, Dawn Grivetti.  “We anticipate Pingree Grove will be one of the fastest growing communities in Illinois when the 2020 census is completed. This new facility will allow Village staff to work together to maximize our resources.” Finance Director, Karen Plaza.

Pingree Grove has grown from a quaint village of 124 residents (2000 census) to a thriving community of over 8,000 in 2018. Pingree Grove continues to be “A Place to Grow’.
