Primary Goal & Objective
The primary goal of the Village's snow removal and ice control program is to maintain safe travel routes during and following snowstorms, as well as to restore mobility for the traveling public within a reasonable time frame after cessation of storm conditions.

Area Responsibilities
State and County roadways, and unincorporated areas serviced by the Townships are the sole responsibility of State, County, or Township agencies. Assistance due to emergency conditions may occur on a case-by-case basis, which include:
- City of Elgin Maintained
- Damisch Road (Store Street to Big Timber Road)
- County Maintained
- Big Timber Road
- Highland Avenue (Damisch to Randall Road)
- State Maintained
- Illinois Route 20 (including Oak St Downtown Heritage District)
- Illinois Route 47
- Illinois Route 72
- Township Maintained
- Stage Coach Lane
- Thurnau Road (Route 47 to Route 72)
